Cahué

The Cahué (pterocarpus officinalis) is one of the most widespread trees in the mangrove forest.

This has been made possible through all of the adaptations it has developed along the way, among other things, by:  winged seeds which float and can thus travel on the water, quick growth, wide roots in the form of the pillars that sustain the tree in the unstable wet ground, and roots which grow from the ground upwards, called "Breth roots" that permit them to breath when the water level rises.
